JASMS BATCH 2006: The Final Plan. Final Plan for batch 2006 christmas party cum mini reunion (By Dillian Escandor)

Due to some requests from different people, and as a result of an informal survey, we have decided to move the date of our Christmas Party cum batch reunion on the 21st of December. Some details were also changed to accommodate some people who will be having difficulties with bringing food and beverages.

New Details/Requirements:

When: December 21 (monday); 6pm onwards.

Why: Batch Christmas party cum Mini reunion

Where: Julius' House

Food:

We are requiring that you bring food (not donuts) that can feed 7 people. Should you not bring, you can contribute a paltry amount of 350. Failure to bring food or to pay the amount is tantamount to being barred from the event. NO FOOD or 350, NO ENTRY

We are also requesting that you inform us (Malaya or Cris or Julius or the author of the note) the kind of dish or dishes and kind of beverage (non alcoholic or alcohol) that you will bring. The purpose is to prevent us to have the same kind of dish and or beverage (puro andoks or puro coke).

Tagging along non batchmates/Jasms graduate):

We have decided that anyone can tag along a non-Jasms graduate/batchmate as long as you limit it to a maximum number of two (2) individuals. You should also bring additional food for them.

VIOLENT REACTIONS? COMMENTS? SUGGESTIONS? LATE REQUESTS? mag comment sa baba.

yes people, I still use multiply..

despite having a facebook account, I still find it more fulfilling to write my blogs here in multiply.. hahaha

anyway, for those of you who know my internet activity, you know I'm online almost everyday.. and for those of you who know my schedule, you know I have a schedule fit for a nocturnal creature.. which also means that I am more nocturnal now than I was before..

included in being a nocturnal person is having to come home every night where the buses are rarely full, and less savings because of instances that cause me to eat dinner out.. one good thing about having to come home every night is that I get to see the night sky..

I mean sure, there were times that the sky was pouring rain due to ondoy, pepeng, santi, tino, and other typhoons that passed the Philippines. but there are those nights that I get to see a cloudless sky, and the moon shines bright along with the stars..

it's nights like these that I wish our house had a balcony.. you'd probably find me sitting there, with a laptop, and a drink in hand.. not necessarily alcoholic, but something to quench my thirst..

it's also times like these that I want to climb a mountain again.. on a mountain, you get to see more stars than in the city.. the city lights cause less light to pass through the atmosphere you see, so the more city lights we have, the less stars we see..

for those of you who I have climbed with, I'm sure you know the feeling.. and for those of you who hasn't tried climbing mountains (literally), it's a lot of work, but the satisfaction you get when you reach the top is worth it..

back in the gray zone...

like I said yesterday near lunch time.. "di ko nga alam kung anong kulay nun ngayon eh".. and as it turned out, I'm still in the shade of gray..

I thought I was already nearing the white zone.. but then I stumbled back to the gray...

ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!!

Yesterday was one of the most unusual experiences that I've ever had in my life..

It was 10:20 in the morning, on a rainy Saturday morning.. we were in the middle of our third quiz for our Inorganic Chemistry subject, when a general chemistry student of Ma'am Miranda (Our professor for Inorg) came in and inquired about the exam he was supposed to take, because classes were already suspended during this time.

Normally, Mapuans would ask for confirmation first about things like these because a common trait that most Mapuans would have is the "Don't waste my time" mentality. This form of mentality is usually present in every Mapuan because he prefers to be as relaxed as possible even if it is already the last week of classes, and the final exams are coming up..

After 10 minutes of staring at my quiz booklet, and realized that there was nothing else I could write, I decided to submit my paper, and be done with the exam. After talking with my other classmates who submitted after me, I realized some of my answers could be wrong..

12nn came, and it was raining as hard as hell.. which meant it would take a while before we could get a ride home, so we decided to play DOTA while waiting for the rain to stop. Unaware of what awaited us, just as we were in front of the signage of the school's name, there was a flood infront of Mapua, so we decided to go back into the campus..

While outside the campus, with all the umbrellas surrouding me, the sleeves of my shirt got very wet, and when I visited the lab assistant's office, they told me to dry my shirt and wear a different one so that I wouldn't catch a cold.. so I did just that, and I placed my wet shirt infront of the electric fan for faster drying. which caused a spark inside the office because the wall of the office was leaking, and the exposed portion of the motor began to shoot colors..

And so the rain continued, and none of the students dared to face the rain, and parents started texting their children to stay in school because of floods happening everywhere. The school then allowed us to stay for the night, and even provided us dinner and breakfast for free.. XD

During the length of the night, we watched movies, played cards, as well as plants vs. zombies. The fun part of the movie watching was that we were watching the movie in full screen since the S.A.'s let us use the LCD projector.. XD

The most unusual thing about the experience as a refugee was that I and my co-students of the Che-Chm department had a world of our own inside Mapua. While most of Mapua was in the gym or AV rooms, I and my batchmates were staying in the Chemistry Laboratory Stockrooms. While everybody was watching the news, and waiting for the rain to end, we were up at the 4th floor enjoying ourselves to everything we could do..

Going home was the best part of being a refugee because we saw a lot of things that made us wonder just how strong the rain was last night. Especially the Quiapo area.. @_@

If we had a chance to take a picture of said area, I would have posted it here. But for now this is what you get. I have videos of what we saw before we rode the LRT 2, so I hope you wait for it.

we're a dying breed...

To every guy that has said, "You're beautiful."

To every guy that has said, "Sex CAN wait."

To every guy that was never too busy to drive across town to see her.

To every guy that gives flowers and a card.

To every guy who has given her flowers just because.

To every guy that said he would die for her.

To every guy that really would.

To every guy that did what she wanted to do.

To every guy that cried in front of her.

To every guy that she cried in front of.

To every guy that holds hands with her.

To every guy that hugs her when she's sad.

To every guy that hugs her for no reason at all.

To every guy who would give their jacket up for her.

To every guy that calls(or texts) to make sure she got home safe.

To every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to see her for ten minutes.

To every guy that would give his seat up.

To every guy that just wants to cuddle.

To every guy that reassured her that she was beautiful no matter what.

To every guy who told his secrets to her.

To every guy that tried to show how much he cared through every word and every breath.

To every guy that thought maybe this could be the one.

To every guy that believed in her dreams.

To every guy that would have done anything so she could achieve them.

To every guy that never laughed at her when she told him her dreams.

To every guy that walked her to her house.

To every guy that gave his heart.

To every guy who prays that she is happy even if he is not with her.

To every guy who is willing to wait for years just to prove his love for her.

To every guy who still prioritizes God instead of making the girl as the sun of his life.

...This one bulletin post is for you...

Not many girls appreciate nice guys anymore... And because of this, there are not many left out there... I guarantee 90% of the men on your page will not re-post this because they care more about their image. If you are a nice guy re-post this with "We're a Dying Breed " If you are a girl that thinks every guy should treat a girl this way re-post this with: "To Every Guy"

of traffic, oceans, and t-shirts..

I fell asleep last night so I wasn't able to blog this..

yesterday was probably the day I've seen Espana in its WORST conditions..

what started out as a simple traffic situation which I assumed normal since it was already around 8am even though it was a Saturday, turned out to be one of the biggest floods that I have ever seen hit Espana.. It also helped me realize that I'm very very greatful that I'm not studying in UST.. (No offense mean't to those who are Thomasians)

the fx that I was riding made me and my fellow passengers off in between blumentritt and maceda because he was afraid that his fx would sink in the flood.. thinking that after maceda, I'd be able to get a ride, I made my way towards maceda.. the flood in maceda was worse than I expected, and so I had to walk a bit further up maceda before I could actually cross it.. after getting across, I was met by the small corner after maceda which made me decide to go home.. the corner was so flooded that it reached the elevated sidewalk (which was about a foot or two high), and the waves that were made by the passing vehicles would reach my feet at the middle of the sidewalk.. @_@

since I lacked breakfast at the time, and already decided that I was going home, I decided to eat at Jollibee in Welcome Rotonda.. while there, Bryan was continuously texting me to go to school so that we could play DOTA since it wasn't flooded inside Intra, and our professor hasn't entered the room..

after eating, I decided to go home and made my way across the footbridge.. once on top, I looked at Espana and saw that the traffic was only bad up to Blumentritt, which made me think "what if I went to school instead?".. after all, at home, all I'd be doing is nothing.. at least in school, I can be a peer adviser, or hang with friends..

for some reason, I opted to go to school.. probably because even if non-aircon buses and jeepneys that went our way passed, I wasn't comfortable riding those all the way home.. something wanted me to go to Intra.. and so I did.. once there, I decided to cut my class in Inorg since I've finished it last term.. all I do need is to understand a certain topic that was not properly taught to us last time, which is already in the ebook..

I stayed in W501 since I know a few peer advisers who also pass by Espana and wanted to hear their journey along Espana.. since their buses took Nagtahan, I was fortuante enough to see what happened to UST up to Morayta..

I got my bus at Welcome Rotonda, and as expected from a bus driver, he found a way to change lanes in a road that was already in heavy traffic.. after Blumentritt, the bus counterflowed Espana because its nose was already in the middle of the intersection, and the vehicles crossing Espana from Blumentritt were already blocking the road.. once it reached Maceda, the bus didn't move, and I noticed that the air-conditioner wasn't really functioning.. at first I thought it was because there was already too many people standing in the bus that hindered the air flow.. but after we crossed the PNR tracks did I remember that it is important to turn off the air-conditioner of a vehicle if passing by a flooded area..

from where I sat, I couldn't see the road anymore.. just water flowing as vehicles pass by.. across Ramon Magsaysay HS (Espana Branch), there stands a chowking branch.. but it was closed at the time.. it was already around 10am at this time, so I guess it was still closed because the water from Espana could reach the bottom of the glass door of chowking.. oh yeah, it was at this corner that the bus decided to go back to its normal lane..

while waiting for the stop light to turn green at the corner of espana and lacson, there was this "kariton" that had about 6 people on it and the people who were pushing it were being talked to by the MPD.. my first thought was "tang-*** pati ba naman yan huhulihin mo??", but then I saw that the guy was trying to help them get to the sidewalk because the vehicles that would soon pass by would make them wet.. and they did get wet when a bus passed by that was moving a bit too fast to be in 1st gear..

it was in front of UST that I saw the greatest flood that could probably help me understand how Noah felt when God flooded the world.. for those of you who know how high the sidewalk is infront of UST, and how high the gate is, imagine the water level reaching the railings of the gate as each vehicle passes by.. sure the volume of the vehicles have a factor, but imagine the sidewalk man! that side walk has about 3-4 steps before you step on the road!! even the soccer field became a lake because of the water there!! @_@

as if UST was bad enough, the scariest that I saw was at the corner of Morayta.. first of all, 2/3 of the yellow guard rails was under water.. I couldn't even see the bottom of the rails because of the turbidity of the water.. and to make things worse, if you pass by Morayta, then you'd probably be familiar with the greenwich that stands in the corner of Espana, Lerma, and Nicanor Reyes.. well guess what.. the water was able to reach the side walk level of greenwich.. which means if one were walking in front of greenwich, one would appear to be walking on water.. @_@

just how high is that sidewalk?? as insulting as it may be, I'll use a few people's height as reference.. for jasms batchmates - Lubog ang ulo ni Karina pag nakatayo sya sa main road.. for Peer Advisers - Lubog si ate Ruby kahit nakataas ang kamay nya.. for che-chm pipol - lubog si sir Ice.. pwede ring reference si janine/veia.. XD

and now I find myself back again in W501.. wherein I found myself teaching chemistry to 1st year ChE's who are under ma'am Ng.. my initial reaction was "ChE kau tapos magpapaturo kau ng stoich??".. then again, I did remember that I had a few problems in chem 1 myself, so I continued to teach them what they needed to know, and a few things that they might eventually know.. like bromobenzene.. XD

after teaching chem 1, I went out to play DOTA.. didn't notice it was already more than 2 hours since we played, but hey, that's DOTA for us.. XD

after playing DOTA, we hanged out in the Lab Assistant's office (because some of my friends are lab assistants), and I learned of a memo that could have affected my entrance in Mapua that day..

I was wearing a black shirt yesterday.. one which read "Mapua Engineers Walang Katulad" in front, and a logo similar to SMB at the back.. the memo that was distributed earlier that day said that students wearing those shirts would not be allowed inside Mapua.. speculations as to why they did it include "It gives Mapua a bad image because it shows that Mapuans like to drink beer"..

HELLO!! WERE YOU EVEN THINKING STRAIGHT SIR ______?! YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THAT MAPUANS DRINK ALCOHOLIC DRINKS!! HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE MEMBERS OF YOUR ORG DRINK?! I MEAN COME ON! IT'S JUST A SHIRT!! I'D HAVE PREFERRED IT IF YOU SAID WE BROKE SOME FORM OF ARTISTIC LICENSE AND HAVE TO PAY SAN MIGUEL FOR USING THEIR LOGO WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION OR SOMETHING..

@_@

anyway.. that's about it for what happened to me yesterday.. the rest is irrelevant to the blog..

oh yeah.. just an update..

I'm angry at myself with the results of 3 of my quizzes for this term.. these quizzes all have one thing in common.. simple mistakes.. whether it's transcription of DNA to mRNA, or properly substituting values in a schrodinger eqn (Quantum Chem), or writing down the f'ing correct given, these simple mistakes cost me points in my exams in which all are in range of 68 - 75%.. hopefully, my score in Inorg would be much better than these, and that I don't screw up in my coming exam for Thermo.. @_@

Of Jigglypuffs and Obvious Mathematical Errors..

It's been a while since I posted something here in Multiply.. probably because I've had nothing to write about that I wanted to share.. as part of a college tradition that I've developed initially to tell my HS friends how I am handling my studies, I write about my professors for the term in every subject.. and I'm Thankful they don't have multiply accounts.. XD

anyway, here we go..

CHE320 - Thermodynamics 2.. my bitterness in this subject is that I didn't take it last term, which could have given me a higher average even if I failed Inorg.. so far, this subject's been nothing but reporting of our problem sets.. but at least I know I can handle this subject.. My professor here is Ma'am De Vera, and as far as I can tell, she knows the subject, but is using a different approach which I don't know would be more effective.. but I'll see what happens on wednesday when we have our first exam there..

CHM300 - Inorganic Chemistry.. my second take.. oh well.. what can I say.. It's Inorg! given na un! hindi na un variable.. but since I'm taking this under Ma'am Miranda, I think the tables are turned in terms of difficulty.. XD

BIO181 - Basic Biotechnology.. under sir Perci Garcia.. okay naman ang subject.. last week nga lang wala akong ginawa sa kanya kundi magtext or matulog.. hahaha!! kasi naman, ung ibang topic tinuro na sa amin sa Biology subject namin nung 2nd year kami.. the effect? the simplest questions in the quiz were the ones that ended up wrong.. @_@ oh well, there's still 2 more quizzes to go.. XD

CHE375 - Heat and Mass Transfer 1.. under Dr. Arturo Tapas Jr.. to simply put it.. jigglypuff.. @_@

but I guess things will turn out better.. XD

CHM290 - Quantum Chemistry.. under MMMM.. so far, we've learned to derivatize our schrodinger equations and are told that the square of the first derivative yields to the second derivative.. @_@

I'm still waiting for most of my quiz results since we haven't taken our first exam on thermo 2.. oh well.. we'll see what happens in the coming weeks..

in light of recent conversations in FB (na ayaw basahin ni claudio), I'm feeling better now.. my energy level is increasing again.. I hope hindi na ito bababa..

minsan, mas maganda maging ethanol, kaysa maging tubig..

ethanol and water are solvents (mga nagtutunaw or nilalagyan para maghalo) used in many ways.. the difference? water is a polar solvent (basta may positive and negative charges sa molecule/ion.. ) while ethanol is an organic solvent (kaya nya magtunaw ng mga carbon containing compounds na hindi kaya tunawin ng tubig)..

now, allow me to use the reasoning na ginamit ng isa naming prof dati.. although sinabi nya rin naman na hindi niya ineendorse ang gawaing ito, stick to what the doctors say na lang para safe.. XD

going back to the blog? anong connection??

ako po ang ethanol.. na marunong makisama sa mga polar and non-polar molecules.. sa lahat ng nakasama ko sa gateway kahapon, natutuwa ako't nagkita-kita ulit tayo (Go Pascal!!), at kay Rodney and Dillian na nakasama kong manood ng HP6, sa uulitin!! gusto ko Sherlock Holmes naman! or UP! XD

after 48 years..

it's been a very very long time since I last did it..

I was partially nervous cause I wasn't sure if I was as good as I was when I frequently did it..

fortunately for me, my skills have yet to completely tarnish..

anyway, kanina lang ay nakapagdrive ako from my uncle's house in tacloban, to my grandmother's home town of Dulag (somewhere in the eastern side of Leyte)..

we went to the family's property which is located in a beach in Dulag.. it was raining so I can't promise pics for now..

had lunch with my mom's cousins.. then drove to a meeting that she was supposed to attend.. and then finally we went back home.. tiring yes, but it felt damn good to be able to drive again.. XD

Panliligaw - by Bob Ong

Roses? Kalachuchi? Chocnut at sampaguita?

In lab na po ako. Ano po ang gagawin ko? Is she the one.

Lubos na gumagalang,
- Bartolome -

- ANG REPLY -

Dear Bartolome,

Ano ba pare? Ano’ng era ka ba pinanganak?

Pero don’t worry. It’s not too late. Mga medyo more than your usual regalong panligaw:

Tapos pabuksan mo in front of everyone.

Later during the day, pag tinanong niya kung bakit Century Tuna ang binigay mo, iikot mo yung lata at ituro mo yung sign na “Omega 8.” Pag tinanong niya kung ano yung Omega 8, sabihin mo: “because you’re good for my heart.”

Tapos, sa bawat hanger, isula mo: “I miss hanging out with you.”

Tapos bilugan mo yung “with Omega 8.” Hindi na siya magtatanong kung bakit.

5. Bigyan mo ng ice cream cone. Dapat cone lang at walang ice cream.

7. Bigyan mo siya ng mumurahing bumbilya. Alam mo na siguro by this time kung ano ang isasagot pag tinanong niya kung bakit.

Handang tumulong lagi,

for this one, I can't believe I didn't see before..

I'm a globe postpaid subscriber.. I was given the privilege to be my dad's extension so I got his extension number..

anyway, like I was saying, I'm a globe postpaid subscriber.. and like other post paid subscribers, there are times that I go above my limit..

lately, globe has a new postpaid plan that allows you to limit your spending by telling the subscribers that they have reached their credit limit, and that they can reload their credit using a card from authorized globe centers..

didn't they already do something like that some 12 years ago? uhh.. didn't they call it prepaid??

I mean, if you've maxed out your credit, you go somewhere and get more, right? isn't that the point of prepaid?

what kind of idiot said that this was a good idea?!?! did they rely on a project evaluation technique and decided that this would be more profitable? and neglected the fact that prepaid was also an option??

so season 4 talaga ang nasa c/s..

this came to me last week...

for lack of other things to watch on tv, and because it is the majority that is followed when watching tv in this house, I was forced to watch local channels.. it's not that I hate the local industry, its just that I'm not very supportive of the primetime dramas.. which brings me to the start of my blog..

I was forced to watch "I love Betty La Fea" like every other night that I come home during their timeslot.. which, unfortunately for me, also makes me watch "Tayong Dalawa".. despite me being not supportive of these dramas, I will admit to "Tayong Dalawa" to be amusing because of the characters.. no, this has nothing to do with Kim Chu.. I'm actually amused by the characters portrayed by Cherry Pie Picache and the actress who plays her mother (I forgot her name).. they made being a member of the poor society a fun thing..

but again, these are merely segways to my original point in this blog.. this is because after these dramas, comes "SNN" which came to me as pointless because they already have Sundays for "The Buzz" and pretty much half of the news of TV Patrol for their showbiz news..

but what really provoked me was the "exclusive interview" portion of Bea Alonzo.. no, I have nothing in personal with her.. but it was the questions of Boy Abunda that bothered me..

our culture has been exposed to so much pop culture that the people in the entertainment industry are using everything that they have in order to maintain their status as the choice of the masses..

yes their intentions are ideal.. they're simply doing their job, which is to entertain the people.. but what bothers me is the sudden increase in showbiz news.. why this kind of news? why of all the things that keep on happening all around us, it is the showbiz industry that is focused on?

I read in another person's blog that the masses have a mental capacity similar to that of a grade 4 student, hence, they should be treated as grade 4 students.. why exploit the part of treating them as grade 4? can't they be treated as grade 6 so as to increase their mental capacity? or is maintaining their grade 4 capacity the reason you have food on your plates?

as I recall, during hard times, the media always asks random people along the EDSA or wherever they're stationed their opinion as to how they shall rise from this crisis? is your solution to feed them with showbiz news each and every night? or wouldn't it be better if you used the people in the showbiz news industry to promote whatever it is that the government has been trying to tell the people..

I'm stopping here.. before I say anything else that would make things more complicated as it already is..

Walang Acetic Acid..

how am I??

at each morning's sunrise
at every chance I get
I always tell myself
"It's gonna be a good day, I bet"

at each passing day
and each passing night
when the clouds cover the moon
I long for the night

at times of total darkness
and the stars cannot be seen
I tend to ask myself
"what does this mean?"

each time I see you
and each time I can't
there's always something that tells me
there's no reason to rant

I long for your touch
to hold you in my arms
to always see you smile
and keep you from harm

I did not mean for this to happen
it hit me when I didn't knew
it was after a single moment
that I knew it was you

but now is not a good time for me
for my priorities are in view
I have to focus on my studies
before I refocus onto you

my intention was never to hurt
or else, that wouldn't be me
all I ask for now
is for you to wait for me

at the point that I am free
from the binds that I have made
I intend to make you happy
for more than a single day

if you cannot wait for me
there is nothing I can do
but when my finals week ends
I hope to hear from you..

Singing Bee!!

a blog before finals week..

march na!!! and in 2 weeks, tatapusin na ng mga prof ko ang lectures!! tapos, from the 15th onwards, it's gonna be the busiest of my life! hahaha!!

let's start witht thermo 2.. so far, masama as in masama ang standing ko sa subject na yan.. pero nagbigay si sir Bungay ng pag-asa basta maayos ang pagkakagawa ng project namin.. XD

ana chem lab naman.. no comment.. XD

next on the list is ana chem lecture.. hinihintay ko pa ang score ko sa quiz 3 para alam ko na ang magiging pakiramdam ko for quiz 4.. pero alam ko mas maganda ang mga sagot ko dito sa quiz 3 compared dun sa first 2 quizzes combined.. so sana mataas talaga.. XD

aun... that's my status so far sa lahat ng subjects ko this term..

XD

something 25..

got tagged.. sabi ko around this time ko gagawin.. and so here it is...

Rules:
Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note about yourself using 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals.

At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

1) people who first learn that I'm japanese tend to ask "ano meaning ng name mo in Japanese?".. my answer: "Malaya doesn't have a literal translation from japanese.. but the characters I use have its own meaning.."

this is usually followed by "talaga? anu naman un?"

so for the first thing about me, here it is:
真 - read as "ma"; character for "truth"
良 - read as "ra"; japanese don't use the letter "L" very much so "R" is a substitute; character for "goodness"
也 - read as "ya"; doesn't really have a word to translate, but "ya" is used whenever japanese mean "among others" in their sentences..

2) having learned these back when I was 10 (I think.. I didn't learn my name in those characters until around that age), I kind of remember telling myself that I'd stick to those qualities.. or else, what's the point of having it in your name.. right??

3) most people know me as the guy who has a very big bag.. partly because I like to climb mountains.. where I got that kind of liking is probably from my childhood.. I joined the Boy Scout of the Philippines back in elementary.. stayed from grade 2 up to 1st year high school..

4) during my childhood as a boy scout, I was awarded as one of the "10 outstanding boy scouts of the year".. which after a year or two I thought I didn't really win that hard because the people in the higher ups of the BSP admin knew me PERSONALLY.. but hey, since they saw me worthy, wth..

5) another thing I got for being a boy scout was the opportunity to travel to different countries and meet different cultures.. I've been to California because of an invitational jamboree, wherein we stayed in a mountain in San Jose, and my foster parents lived in Delano (which is a small town with a lot of grape yards.. a bit far from L.A. though).. I also got a chance to go to Thailand because of the 20th world Jamboree.. no foster parents here, but a lot of the thai delegates mistook most of us Filipinos as Thai.. lucky we were wearing our uniforms all the time so we had justifications that we were foreigners.. XD

6) despite currently studying in a technical school, my High School was more on the artistic side of the students.. I tried science high schools, but I failed PSHS and I wasn't able to apply at QCHS.. but I do not regret staying in JASMS (my alma mater)..

7) since I did graduate from an artistically inclined high school, there's no denying that I did learn a few things in the art world.. my favorites include photography even if I only got a chance to study it for around 3 months.. but the one thing I cannot deny is that I enjoyed high school because of theater..

8) I was grade 4 when I first watched this organization known as the "Tanghalang Tanyag ng Kabataan - JASMS" (a.k.a. TaTaK-JASMS).. after watching their performance I was like "Damn! gusto ko sumali sa kanila!!".. since it was a high school organization, I joined them when I was 1st year.. though I forgot I wanted to join them when I first entered high school, the room-to-room helped in reminding me that I wanted to join..

9) my first taste of organization leadership opportunity was given to me on my second year in JASMS.. because the original adviser of TaTaK was about to leave us, he wanted to leave the organization in good hands.. unfortunately for me, I got the position as Vice-President despite only being a sophomore.. I mean, other members had more experience than what I had in the organization, but why he gave me the position, I'll never know..

10) everytime I study, I like to listen to my playlist.. it may be distracting at times, but it helps during exams because whenever I remember a particular song that distracted me, I remember what I'm supposed to write (not applicable for analytical chemistry 2).. XD

11) I learned to play the piano back when I was grade 2.. stopped at around 1st year high school cause I felt like it was time to move on.. but given a chance to study a piece then maybe I could still play it again.. I won't compete with my sister though..

12) my hair was never naturally curly.. I had the standard straight hair na meron karamihan ng mga bata.. I can't remember what it was called, but I had that straight hair.. my childhood pics can prove that.. XD

13) like other sports, I start out not interested, but after experiencing it, I decide if I like it or not.. example: basketball.. never really saw how people enjoyed it.. but after a few games, I enjoyed it so much that it became my favorite sport.. the same does not apply to wrestling though.. I like it cause people can fly maybe 30 feet and still end up standing after landing in their stomachs.. most of them anyway.. XD

14) if the Rajas were still in power, then I'm royalty.. no this has nothing to do with my japanese side (kaya nga Raja eh!).. our family tree shows that my grandmother sa mother side ng family is a decendant of Prince Tupaz, who is one of the 3 sons of Raja Sulayman, whom was the Raja at the time Magellan found the Philippines.. hence, all of my cousins, nephews, and nieces are reminded at a young age that we are a decendants of royalty, and that we should be proud of it.. may not have much value today as it did some 400 years ago, but hey, proud to be pinoy pa rin naman diba?? XD

15) as weird as it sounds, there are times that I enjoy listening to songs that are from a woman's point of view.. not because I want to be the one singing the song.. but because I like the feeling that a girl would sing that song for me.. usually my criteria for enjoying a song like that includes lyrics, melody, and voice quality.. plus points if the singer is cute, minus points if it's a novelty song.. xD

16) despite number 15, of course I enjoy songs that are of a guy's point of view.. again, lyrics, melody, and voice quality are my criteria.. minus points if it's a novelty song, plus points if the song or singer/band dares to break boundaries (like mixing a violin and cello in a rock band, or daring to defy the industry that would make them famous)..

17) I like solving jigsaw puzzles.. I like the idea of how each shape fits to complete the picture that is in the cover of the box.. haven't found the time to start again, but if you were to give me one, I'd prefer it to be at least 500 pieces.. XD

18) people who see me type in the keyboard already know this.. I don't necessarily have to look at the keyboard to type.. people have seen me just stare at the sky and think about what I want to type and it just comes out in the monitor.. although I do make mistakes whenever I type, I usually realize it and head for the backspace button.. thankfully, word has an automatic typo corrector, so my editing is minimized.. XD

19) as a student of Mapua, I understand what it means to say "I don't have time to do this" because studying a subject for 11 weeks isn't exactly what I'd call fun.. I mean, who studies algebra and trigonometry together in 11 weeks?!?! yeah those are easy subjects for some people, but nonetheless, I've seen engineering students in Mapua struggle in these subjects probably because of the transition from 1 year of studying trigonometry, to 11 weeks with a terror profesor..

20) i'm not a heavy drinker when it comes to alcohol.. I don't go out every night to drink with friends.. probably because my friends don't do that, and the few friends that I have that drink more than me always tell me "pag hindi ako busy, tara toma tayo.".. which is something I prefer because my priority is studying against all other things..

21) I'm not a member of the NGSB (No Girlfriend Since Birth), but I am a member of TIIS (T*** I** I'm Single).. Hi Renz!! XD

22) if you were to give me P1000 worth of arcade money, I'd probably spend it all in Time Crisis.. unless there was a prize that has to be won.. XD

23) I'm not a bookworm, which is probably why I prefer TV or movies.. but if I like the plot of the book then I might actually read it.. hopefully my eyes don't become heavy after the first few chapters.. otherwise I'd close it and leave it there for a few months (kinda like the second book of twilight.. the only difference is I finished the first book just so I have something to compare the movie with..)

24) I like quiz shows.. although I prefer to be a contestant than to be a quiz master or organizer.. for the simple reason that as a contestant, I have something to prove to the organizer or quizmaster.. XD

25) lately, I have this unusual fascination with fire.. it's not just because of the cold flame that we do during Kemajik.. but the feeling that something like fire is in the palm of your hands kinda feels good..

since I'm supposed to tag, I tag Guive, Claudio, Bryan, Dannah, Janine, JM, Renz, Edison, Mariane, Cris, Raymond, Chloe, Guccie, and all the others who want to do this.. I don't usually have more than 12 common readers so I don't know who else to tag.. XD

all I have to say is...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

a blog before resting...

it's been three days straight since I've been sleeping early (in the morning), and each time, I haven't failed to look at the night sky even for a while..

something about the moonlight gives me inner peace despite having a exams that have relatively low scores if you consider percentage, but are average if you consider the past exams ng ibang batch..

la lang.. naisip ko lang.. lagi kong hinahanap ang buwan bago ako matulog.. or kahit makita ko man lang un bago ako gumawa ng lab rep or whatever.. hahaha

Midnight

I wrote this last night before I went to sleep.. didn't have time to post it here in multiply because I was too sleepy, as well as the fact that there was no computer on during that time.. hahaha!

When the sun fails you and you move to the dark
When all that you plan just lost its spark
When shadows creep in and take you from witin
And all that you ask is a last look at light

And yet in all irony, deep in the night
You find what you seek, so round and bright
It hides its beauty behind the clouds so high
And there's nothing you can do but look up to the sky

A sea of clouds I saw ahead
But look beyond and there it shares
A single bright radiance it had
oh but the energy, it made me so glad

Alas, I thought my night were damp
When happiness was taken away from me
And yet, there I was under the midnight moon
With my only wish, that she see it too...

A little trivia: when I saw the moon last night, despite not being able to see the lunar eclipse because of the clouds, I remembered at that moment why I love climbing mountains..

It's because when you get to the summit, there's no greater feeling than to be rewarded by the beauty that the mountain possesses..

"Pwede ba mag-cut??" 3.3

a stupid question that is asked by a stupid person..

a thought came into this person's mind when a certain professor was expected not to arrive on time due to "force of habit", or "trend lines", or what others might call "patterns"...

anyway, stupid person never got his wish.. but learned that said professor would be a great professor if the patterns would stop and the said professor would take teaching seriously..

to my mapuan readers, you'd have to be a part of the che-chm department to know who I'm talking about..

but to my non-mapuan readers who know me very well, you probably have an idea as to who stupid person is..

yup, it's me.. stupid noh.. who asks kung pwede mag-cut.. duh!! pero hindi pa rin ako naka-alis kasi nung naisipan na namin na umalis, dumating na ang prof namin..

haay.. since pinakilala ko na rin lang ang stupid person sa blog, pakilala ko na rin ung prof na sinabi ko.. at pati na rin ang iba kong mga prof for the term (hence the 3.3)..

CHE300 - ito ang subject ng prof na gusto kong hindi pasukan.. title ng course ay "Engineering Economics".. ang dating prof dito ay prof ko sa thermo 2 (to be introduced later), so ang pumalit ay none other than si Engr. Elisa Eleazar.. now, gaya ng sinabi ko kanina, kung hindi lang sana tamad ung prof na ito, magaling at respetadong prof sana xa.. eh kaya lang may mga kalokohan din xa.. pero based sa pagtuturo niya for this week (accordingly, nagkasakit xa last week so buong week nya kami hindi pinasukan) pag alam na niya ang tinuturo niya, magaling xa magturo sa subject na un..

CHE370 - also known as "Momentum Transfer and Fluid Mechanics:".. nakuha ko ulit si Ma'am Marquez.. and sabi niya dito na daw namin siya huling makikita.. which implies na sa lahat ng subjects ko sa department namin, dito sa subject na ito ko na siya huli magiging prof.. malamang makikita ko xa once in a while sa Mapua, pero kung magtuturo pa siya ng ibang majoring subjects, mukhang after nito, wala na.. sana OT pa rin si ma'am sa exams.. ^^

CHM220 - also known as "Analytical Chemistry 2".. mostly instrumentation na.. wala na masyadong "how does the reaction take place", or "what indicator should be used for a pH of 3.64", or "what is a Moore's Reaction".. hahaha!! basically, the particular subject would deal more on what my fellow CSI fanatics call "trace evidence" because majority of our discussions would deal on chromatography (which to the CSI fanatics who don't fully understand chromatography is what Hodges does in order to identify liquid and gaseous substances.. minsan solids din pwede).. sabi ni Sir John (the one and only prof ng Ana Chem 2 lecture), ipapadala niya sa email namin ung mga powerpoint ng lectures.. kaso, hanggang ngayon, wala pang dumarating.. @_@

CHM220L - like any other course in mapua, pag ang course code ay may "L", ibig sabihin nito ay laboratory subject ito.. and also, NAKUHA KO NA RING PROF SI MA'AM NOA!!! ANG BAIT NIYA SOBRA!! BINIBIGAY NIYA LAHAT NG GUSTO NIYA MAKITA SA LAB REPORTS!! TAPOS ANG BAIT NIYA MAGBIGAY SA PDS!! BAKIT PA KASI INIWAN NIYA KAMI NUNG ANA CHEM 1?!?! EDI SANA MAS MAGANDA ANG GRADE KO NUNG MGA PANAHON NA YUN!! AT BAKA KUMPLETO PA KAMING MGA CCE-06!!

and finally,

for some strange reason

I'm in need of ROH tonight..

DESKTOP!!!

hahaha!! I finally decided to use my desktop computer again.. XD

nakakamiss din kasi eh.. the broken monitor because it's overly bright and I can't do anything about it.. there's also the fact that we (my sister and I) did not use this PC because she (kasi hindi ko sinubukan) wasn't able to make the monitor work.. fortunately for me, I knew how but was to lazy to do it until today.. hahaha!!

anyway, pasukan na nanaman bukas.. and I'm partly excited since most of my subjects are my ChE majoring subjects.. with a little bit of chem of course..

Feast of the Black Nazarene ito.. tapos, may pang-gabi pa ako pag Fridays, so mukhang gagamit ulit ako ng LRT-MRT-Jeep pauwi..

XD

XD
